A great Northern Nevada resort

All kinds of travelers visit the Sierra: from backpackers to foodies and everything in between! The variety of visitors and their interests come as no surprise.

The Sierra has everything you could ever want in a getaway, and many resorts and establishments in the area have also refined their services offering something for everyone.

The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) is no exception. With nearly 2,000 hotel rooms and suites, GSR has won various awards for its amenities through the years. But there’s so much to GSR than its hotel.

Foodies rejoice

GSR is home to several award-winning restaurants, including Charlie Palmer Steak, the Rim Asian Bistro, and The Grand Buffet.

The casino itself has received several distinctions for its dining options, including Casino Player Magazine’s awards for “Best Overall Dining,” “Casino with the Best Variety of Restaurants,” “Best Buffet,” and “Best Place to Celebrate in 2020.”

In April 2021, Charlie Palmer Steak also began offering a special brunch menu at GSR, so there’s more than just dinner to be enjoyed at this standout restaurant.

Those looking for something a bit more relaxed may also enjoy staples like California Pizza Kitchen, Johnny Rockets, and, of course, a Starbucks on the resort premises.

In addition to the tasty restaurant options, the in-room dining will leave you spoiled from choices when you’re feeling peckish.

For the gamers

Of course, at its heart, the GSR is still a casino, but its casino floor is nothing like you’d expect. After all, contemporary casinos are now being heavily influenced by their online counterparts.

As evident by the slots and games on Gala Bingo, the modern casino will have something to offer for just about anyone who’s aged 21-plus, from themed games following classic slot machine mechanics like Deal or No Deal to table games like blackjack, and even scratch cards. GSR is no exception, hosting a multitude of slot games, video poker, and keno.

With the largest gaming floor in northern Nevada, gamers will find that there are more than a few slot games to choose from at GSR. The casino has even been voted “Best Overall Gaming Resort” by Casino Player Magazine for its wealth of race and sports booking, slot tournaments, reel slots, and live and video poker choices.

For the adventurous

Many who travel to the Sierra are looking for adventure and GSR takes this to heart! There are many thrill-seeking activities including:

GSR is also ideally located for exploring some of the local attractions of Reno/Tahoe, from Artown to the Reno Air Races.

For everyone else

This is just the tip of the iceberg at GSR. Party animals will be glad to know the property has won multiple awards for its popular LEX Nightclub. The Grand Theatre was even named “Best Live Theater/Performance Venue.”

To top it all off, the casino itself is a sight to behold. Reno News & Review awarded GSR with “Best Casino Color Scheme” and “Most Eco-Friendly Casino,” and it has been repeatedly voted as “Best Overall Gaming Resort” and “Favorite Casino to Vacation At” by Casino Player Magazine subscribers. The resort recently made headlines when they unveiled a new autonomous security robot named Jackbot earlier this month.

Whether you’re a foodie, a gamer, or anything in between, GSR is an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy the Sierra.
