Enjoy scenic views with Rolling Freedom Motorcycles in Lake Tahoe

Do you dream about cruising along a winding mountain road, sitting atop two wheels of pure power, wind rushing past you, with the song “Born to be Wild” playing in your head? The freedom of riding powerful motorcycles in Lake Tahoe under the clear, blue skies has always been a fantasy for those who don’t own or have their motorcycle nearby.
With a variety of vehicles available, this new venture can provide the type of ride for a large variety of riders, depending on experience and desires.
This has now changed thanks to a new Lake Tahoe business, Rolling Freedom Motorcycles, located at 152 US Hwy 50 in Stateline between Edgewood Golf Course and the former Lakeside Inn. With a variety of vehicles available, this new venture can provide the type of ride for a large variety of riders, depending on experience and desires.
“We are all about cruising and getting the best experience in this area,” says Matt Beaghley, who along with wife Sina, came up with the business idea. “We were closing on our home up here on the South Shore and wanted to go for a ride, but couldn’t find anywhere to rent motorcycles.”
To rent a motorcycle at their shop, at least 3 years of riding experience is required. For more experienced riders who have a valid motorcycle endorsement, several Harley-Davidsons, including the Road Glide, Street Glide and Road King, are available to rent.
Other motorcycles available include the Triumph Tiger, Indian Scout Sixty and Ducati Scrambler. “Not everyone wants to ride a Harley, so we made sure we had other options as well” Matt added. Those without a motorcycle license can still enjoy the thrill of riding a Honda Ruckus, a 49CC scooter. This moped is street legal and can reach a top speed of 35 mph.
Those who want to experience the beautiful paved trails that the Tahoe area has to offer may prefer their E-bike option – the Juiced Scorpion Moto-Style E-Bike. Two of these bikes also have a seat on the back and footpegs, so older kids and co-pilots can also enjoy the thrill. These are definitely not your grandma’s e-bike! Off the trails, just hit the throttle and cruise along at a top speed of almost 30 mph.
The ultimate ride for those who want the thrill of open-air motorcycle riding, but the comfort of a car, is the Slingshot. What’s a Slingshot? It’s one of those cool-looking, two-seater vehicles with two wheels in the front, one in the back. Casual observers will think the Batmobile passed them by as you speed past in this black and red, streamlined bad boy! And no motorcycle license is required to drive it.
Rolling Freedom Motorcycles also has sunset cruises available for both e-bike, motorcycle, and slingshot riders.
“We will have e-bike sunset cruises that leave our shop. The cruise goes down the Kahle trail to Nevada Beach, then to Round Hill Pines with the opportunity for customers to order refreshments,” says Sina.
“Our sunset motorcycle cruises will go part way around the lake, with stops for stunning photo ops of the sunset from the East shore. For both of these cruises, we will have guides accompanying the group that will serve as videographers, so you can take the memories home with you.” The Slingshot is also available to rent during sunset hours, with the option to add on a mounted GoPro camera.
Matt is a veteran, so Rolling Freedom Motorcycles is proud to donate a portion of their proceeds to the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, which provides for America’s injured veterans.
