Farm-to-fork festival will celebrate the area’s food and drink
scene with a number of online events and restaurant week.
Sept. 3, 2020 (South Lake Tahoe, CA/NV) – The Sample the Sierra festival has announced its lineup of events, including virtual cooking demonstrations, musical performances, and an online makers market, as well as a socially-distanced Farm-to-Fork Restaurant Week, Sept. 10-20. In continuing with its tradition of highlighting the unique bounty of the region, Sample the Sierra has re-imagined its festival to conform to COVID-19 restrictions with online events and socially-distanced dining options. Sample the Sierra’s Farm-to-Fork Restaurant Week, beginning Thursday, Sept. 10 and continuing through Sept. 20, features more than 38 restaurants, wineries, and breweries in the Tahoe area. Each participating business will host specials featuring regional products available for take-out, outdoor dining and limited indoor dining.
Experience flavors of the Sierra Nevada with menus utilizing ingredients from local artisans and farmers, such as Gastromaniac Homemade Pasta & Pizza. Gastromaniac will offer a trifecta of local goodies in its prix fixe menu: gnocco fritto seasoned with Heart Rock Herb & Spice Co., rigatoni amatriciana made with Ridgeview Farm pork then paired with a Sidellis Brewery beer, and panna cotta made with peaches from Hooverville Orchards for dessert.
