Let’s run those kids, make some memories, and leave them wanting to do it all over again tomorrow.

Should we have inclement weather or you just need a break from the ski hill, don’t worry, from one mama to another, I got you covered. Let’s run those kids, make some memories, and leave them wanting to do it all over again tomorrow.

The National Automobile Museum
Fun museums abound

For the car buff, the National Automobile Museum is a must! Here you’ll enjoy educational programs serving families, adults, educators and classrooms.

Fun Fact: “The Harrah Collection” is one of the top Reno attractions with a major WOW factor, you won’t want to miss. They also have 200 eye-popping cars with authentic street scenes and sounds bringing the displays to life.

Step back in time at the Nevada State Railroad Museum and take a 30-minute steam train ride featuring the historic Virginia & Truckee railroad.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum prides itself on its collection, preservation, and interpretation of significant locomotives, rolling stock, artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia directly related to railroads and railroading in Nevada.

If you’re looking for a play-based museum, then you’ll want to add the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada to your list. Kids can “ride the space shuttle or airplane” on the first floor, explore the Biome Room in the basement of the museum, paint, and more!

For the sporty family

Turn up the heat with a little family competition at Bowl Incline. They are remodeling the 16-lane bowling center set to reopen in late 2021.

Make sure to call and book your lane ahead of time! Bowling also makes for a fun post-skiing activity for those still looking to burn some energy.

If you’re on the South Shore, you don’t want to miss the newest mini-golf course inside Flatstick Pub. It’s indoors so you can play rain or shine!

Mini golf costs $12 per person per round before 6 p.m. After 6 p.m. it’s 21-plus. You can reserve a tee time directly on their website.

The Loft is a hidden gem located at The Shops at Heavenly Village. While they offer an array of magic shows throughout the week, Sundays at 4:30 p.m. are for the kids! Spend the day skiing and then enjoy family apres with dinner and a magic show.

The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum, located in Reno, is a science center and museum geared toward children and adults. They offer a variety of events all season, ranging from Secrets for Wizards in Training to Chemistry of the Cocktail.
