Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name!” The lyrics to the 1980s hit Cheers, accurately describe the feeling one gets at Mott Canyon Tavern & Grill in Tahoelocated on the Nevada side of South Shore.

We cater to locals, but serve many out of town visitors who call Tahoe home at different times of the year,” says Mark White, who has owned the bar and restaurant since the beginning in 1997.

“Our goal has always been to provide great food, great drinks, and a warm, friendly atmosphere.”

If you’re looking for delicious, reasonably priced, well-proportioned food, a wide selection of beverages, and a relaxed vibe, Mott Canyon Tavern & Grill in Tahoe is the place to visit.

Whether your interest is video poker on bar-top poker machines, pinball or video games, listening to music on their old-fashioned jukebox, or just relaxing, options are aplenty.

We serve 13 beers on tap, which are rotated depending on the season,” says Travis Blauwkamp, a bartender for six years. “We also have daily beer, wine and cocktail specials.”

Enjoy a variety of appetizers, including wings, potstickers, buffalo or cajun cauliflower, plus more. Their specialty is a hot crab, artichoke and jalapeno dip — you’ll need a second beer to wash down this spicy treat!

Meal options are available from an extensive menu, including customized pizza, burgers and sandwiches, burritos, nachos, a variety of salads and more. For seafood lovers, dive into their tasty mahi-mahi tacos.

On a clear night, join your friends outside under the Tahoe stars, around the warmth of the fire pit, or cheer on your favorite team in front of one of their numerous television screens.

The next time you’re looking for a casual, spirited place, with scrumptious food and tasty libations, take the short drive up Kingsbury Grade to Mott Canyon Tavern & Grill.

You and your friends, including the ones you might make that night, will be glad you did!
