How about a nice movie from the comfort of your own vehicle? Here, we’ll explore three drive-in cinemas in the Reno-Tahoe area providing the perfect night out. If you’re yearning to get out of the house, grab some take out dinner or snacks, and watch a new film without leaving your car, we’ve got the perfect venues for you! Remember, most of the drive-ins operate through FM radio, so tune in on your car or bring a radio with you.

Tahoe Art Haus is located in the former Cobblestone Cinema in Tahoe City and is Tahoe/Truckee’s only cinema draft house and independent theater. The in-house theatre is temporarily closed, but they offer drive-in movie viewings, as well as a virtual cinema where you can purchase a movie and have access to it for 72 hours. Films including “John: Lewis Good Trouble” come with the opportunity to view exclusive interviews and panel discussions after the film! All tickets must be purchased in advance and you’ll want to get to the cinema 30 minutes before the movie starts.

West Wind El Rancho Drive-In located in Sparks is a digital drive-in cinema taking on a retro theme and bringing newish Hollywood releases to you. Some of there current movies include “Jumanji,” “Iron Man,” “Zootopia,” “Deadpool,” and “The Conjuring.” Check out Encore Drive-In Nights with special one-night concerts on the big screen. The latest featured Metallica filmed exclusively for August 29 and was the band’s first show of 2020. New Drive-In Movies Hosted at The Walmart in Carson City have been a huge hit! This is the only Walmart in Nevada hosting drive-in movie nights and tickets are free! All you have to do is book it in advance. For future dates and times, check the website and be sure to reserve your ticket early.
