Sierra shopping

The Shops at Heavenly Village are a daydream for touristy take homes. This shopping experience will allow you to get all of the basics like sunglasses at Sunglass Hut, adorable outfits at What a Girl Wants and outdoor necessities at Earthbound Trading. You can find the cutest pieces for the little ones at Little Blue House by Hatley, which has bathing suits and other summer pieces specifically for children. Sealed with a Kiss is one of the key places to make a stop, with everything you need for a date night, summer wedding or beach look. theshopesatheavenly.com

Taking an afternoon to spend shopping is one thing, but to feel really spoiled you have to head to the Village Center Tahoe. This tourist and local hotspot is full of art galleries, designer brands and sassy salon shops. Sidestreet Boutique is one of my favorite locations to change over my closet each season. This shop is coined “Best Clothing Store in South Lake Tahoe” and is even more charming as it has been family owned and operated since 1972. Check out Savvy Lake Tahoe where you can accessorize your suit with the cutest jewelry and snag some flip flops. villagecentertahoe.com

While downtown, take a break from the sun and check out Tahoe Nevada Love in The Basement. This locally owned and operated brand embodies their region and their mission for a “rugged body, conscious mind lifestyle.” Great for both men and women, this is where you’ll find that perfect trendy hat, patches or gifts for family back home. tahoenevadalove.com

If your luggage content needs a total overhaul, look no further than The Outlets at Sparks Marina. Looking good feels even better when you know you got a steal on a designer brand. You can stop by Banana Republic, Converse, GAP and Lane Bryant outlet stores and ensure you get the latest fashions at an appealing price tag. A must-stop shop is the Levi’s Outlet (Did you know the first Levi jeans were made and created in Reno?). This location is also great for all ages and a fun, family friendly way to spend a day. With stops like Forever 21, H&M, Buckle and Motherhood Maternity, there is something hot for everyone at a great price. outletsatsparks.com
